Tucked away on the upper slopes of Fairview Farm in Paarl, a Marsanne vineyard grows beside an old wooden cottage. This little building, known as the Houthuis, gives the wine its name and connects it to a special corner of the farm.
The vineyard grows in decomposed granite soils, and the wine comes entirely from 100% Marsanne grapes.
What makes Bloemcool Houthuis 2025 particularly special is its tiny production. Just one barrel was made, producing only 251 bottles. This limited release offers a chance to experience a distinctive white wine with a close connection to its vineyard.
When it comes to food, Houthuis makes a lovely companion to Gruyère cheese, chicken or pork. Whether you're planning a special meal or looking for something different to add to your wine collection, this is a bottle worth exploring.
