Fairview Altesse 2024 takes its name from the altitude and sea breeze that shape the Darling terroir. The blend combines Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon from top sites on the Alexanderfontein and Lanner Hill farms, just west of Darling and close to the Atlantic Ocean.
The grapes were picked in late February. The cellar team whole-bunch pressed the fruit and fermented the components in stainless steel and French oak. The Sauvignon Blanc matured on the gross lees in stainless steel for nine months, keeping the style crisp and vibrant. The Sémillon fermented in 500L French oak barrels and aged for nine months, adding depth and texture.
This careful approach creates a balanced, expressive blend within the fairview wines family. It captures the maritime influence and cool-climate freshness that define Darling’s best white wines.
