The Fairview Altesse Vertical Case brings together the 2024 and 2025 vintages. Both wines pair Sauvignon Blanc with Sémillon and use stainless steel and French oak in the cellar. Nine months of ageing gives each component time to develop while preserving the fresh Darling character at the heart of Altesse.
Fairview Altesse 2024 is straw-coloured with a touch of green. Fresh herbs, figs, lime and citrus lead the nose. The palate stays fresh, with citrus and nettle notes, balanced acidity and added texture from the Sémillon matured in oak.
Fairview Altesse 2025 shows a straw colour with a slight golden tinge. Fresh green herbs, ripe yellow plums and lime come through on the nose. Dried citrus peel, green figs and nettle follow on the palate. Balanced acidity keeps it fresh, while the oaked Sémillon adds texture.
The Fairview Altesse Vertical Case offers the chance to experience two consecutive vintages of this Darling Bordeaux-style white blend. The name Altesse represents the meeting of altitude and sea, two important influences on the vineyards near the West Coast.
The 2024 vintage combines 55% Sauvignon Blanc with 45% Sémillon. Its fruit comes from the Alexanderfontein and Lanner Hill farms. The vintage also received a 4.5 Star Platter award for 2026.
The 2025 vintage shifts the blend to 62% Sauvignon Blanc and 38% Sémillon, with fruit from Lanner Hill. It received Top 100 and Double Platinum at the 2026 National Wine Challenge.
