The Fairview Barrel-Aged Pinotage 2023 Case of 6 brings together a special once-off Pinotage blend with added depth from oak maturation. The team ferments selected vineyard parcels separately before maturing the wine in French and American oak. Careful barrel selection creates a balanced style where generous fruit and subtle oak work beautifully together.
Deep ruby red in the glass, this Pinotage opens with black cherries, ripe berries and plum. Hints of cinnamon, vanilla and oak spice add warmth. The full-bodied palate carries plenty of dark fruit, balanced by fresh acidity and smooth tannins. Subtle spice lingers alongside the fruit on the long, balanced finish.
Fairview Barrel-Aged Pinotage 2023 is a special once-off release that brings together fruit from selected coastal vineyards. The blend also includes Pinotage from older dryland bush vines and trellised vineyards. These vines grow in decomposed granite soils and add structure and complexity to the wine.
With six bottles in the case, there is plenty to enjoy around the table or save for another occasion. Its rich fruit and smooth structure pair well with beef fillet or slow-roasted lamb. Smoky barbecue dishes and spicy Cape Malay curries also make a great match.
