The Fairview Broken Barrel Pinotage & Durif Magnum 2017 brings together two remarkable crossings: South Africa’s Pinotage and France’s Durif, rounded off with a touch of Tannat. Grown in Swartland and Paarl, the grapes ferment in open-top wooden foudres before maturing for 24 months in French and American oak, with 20% new barrels adding extra depth.
This bold magnum delivers dark fruit, spice and smooth, integrated tannins. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, venison or hearty tapas. As part of Fairview’s one-off Broken Barrel series, it honours tradition while pushing boundaries.
