Ruby red in the glass, this Malbec opens with aromas of ripe cherries, berries, and gentle oak spice. The palate is plush and juicy with flavours of red plum and sweet fruit, supported by silky tannins and a soft, lingering finish. Fairview Granite Red 2024 captures the heart of Paarl’s granite slopes, where Malbec vines thrive in decomposed granite soils. These trellised vineyards produce grapes with brilliant colour, vibrant fruit, and supple tannins, the true reflection of this unique terroir.
Harvested in the cool February mornings, the grapes arrived fresh at the cellar and were gently destemmed before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Regular pump-overs helped to extract bright fruit flavours and colour while keeping tannins soft. After fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic conversion and matured for 12 months in older French and American oak barrels, gaining structure and subtle complexity without losing its juicy core.
The result is a red wine that feels modern, smooth, and full of energy. Fairview Granite Red 2024 is all about pure fruit, gentle spice, and easy enjoyment.
