Fairview Malbec 2024 is incredibly versatile at the table. It works beautifully with lamb, game meat and spicy rice dishes, and it loves smoky or BBQ flavours. Vegan meals with charred or grilled elements pair just as well.
In the glass, this Malbec shows a bright ruby hue. The aromas open with ripe plum, dark cherry and mixed berries, followed by subtle hints of dark chocolate and clove. The palate is soft and juicy with a full, generous mouthfeel. More red fruit comes through on the mid-palate, along with a touch of liquorice that brings gentle savouriness. The finish is smooth, velvety and lingeringly warm. It will age comfortably for 3–5 years.

Granite soils and a warm Mediterranean climate help the vines produce bold fruit with generous flavour. This part of Paarl remains one of the most expressive wine farms in South Africa, and the wine shows that clearly.
The grapes ripened by late February, and the team brought them in at perfect maturity. They fermented the berries in stainless steel with regular pump-overs to build colour and intensity. After fermentation, the wine spent ten months in older French and American oak, which added gentle spice without hiding the fruit.
The result is a juicy, plush Malbec with ripe plum and dark cherry flavours and a smooth, velvety finish. It suits relaxed meals, weekend gatherings, and visitors exploring wine tasting in Paarl or shopping through the Fairview wine shop. It’s an approachable red that fits almost any moment and keeps its charm for a few years.
