Ruby red in the glass, this Malbec opens with plum and dark cherry. A hint of dark cocoa adds depth to the nose. The palate is soft and juicy, with generous red fruit and hints of liquorice savouriness. Finally, smooth tannins create a soft finish. The wine can age well for three to five years.
The Fairview Malbec 2025 Case of 6 brings together six bottles of a characterful Coastal red. The grapes grow on the southern slopes of Paarl Mountain in rich granite soils. Here, Paarl’s Mediterranean-style climate helps create fruit-forward wines with good mid-palate structure.
The team harvests the grapes at the end of February. They ferment the fruit on the skins for around ten days in stainless steel tanks. Regular pump-overs help draw out colour and fruit flavour. Afterwards, the wine moves to older French and American oak barrels, as well as tank. The team then matures it for ten months before blending and bottling.
