ACCOLADES
Perfect with slow-braised beef, lamb shank, hearty stews or winter dishes that match its bold structure.
Deep purple in the glass. The nose shows ripe plums, a hint of salty dried black olives and oak spice. The palate is full bodied and generous with dark fruit and warm spice. Sturdy tannins lead into a lingering dry finish. A true winter-warmer that will age beautifully for 8–10 years.
The Fairview Petite Sirah 2022 comes from a trellised vineyard planted in 2004 on decomposed granite soils high on Paarl Mountain. Summer canopy work opens the vines to sunlight and keeps growth balanced. The warm climate helps Petite Sirah thrive, giving the wine its deep colour and firm tannin.
The grapes were handpicked and fermented in stainless-steel tanks. The team used pump-overs up to three times a day to extract colour and concentration. Because Petite Sirah has naturally intense tannins, they pressed the wine before fermentation finished to keep the balance gentle and smooth. The wine then matured for 24 months in specially toasted French and American oak, with 40% new French barrels adding depth.
Petite Sirah 2022 is bold and flavourful. Ripe plum, dark fruit, olives and warm spice fill the nose and palate. Sturdy tannins create a long, dry finish. It is a powerful expression of fairview wines and a standout South African red wine from respected wine farms South Africa.
Delicious full berries and balanced tannins.
