This case features six bottles of Fairview Pinotage 2023, a wine that highlights why Pinotage thrives in Paarl. Older bush vines and trellised vineyards grow in decomposed granite soils, adding depth and structure to the fruit. The team harvested each block in early February 2023 at optimal ripeness.
After destalking and gentle crushing, the cellar team fermented the grapes in stainless steel tanks and open-top wooden foudres. Malolactic fermentation followed, before the wine matured for 16 months in oak. Fifteen percent new French barrels added polish, while older French and American oak preserved fruit intensity. The result is a structured, age-worthy Pinotage with bold fruit, spice, and a confident backbone.
