Fairview Stok By Paaltjie Grenache 2015 was crafted from hand-harvested grapes grown on individually staked vines, this Grenache was fermented in open-top foudres and matured for 15 months in older French oak to preserve elegance and purity.
Brilliant ruby in the glass, the 2015 Stok by Paaltjie Grenache opens with lifted aromas of sour cherry, fennel, and wild fynbos. The palate is light-footed yet expressive, showing notes of ripe plum, subtle savoury spice, and a line of firm, refreshing tannin that brings focus and finesse to the finish.
From some of Paarl’s steepest and most characterful slopes, the Stok by Paaltjie vineyard lies tucked among indigenous Cape fynbos and ancient terraced soils of decomposed granite and shale. The unique vine-by-post trellising allows each Grenache vine to grow independently, capturing sunlight and air in equal measure. This rugged site, teeming with natural life, produces fruit with distinctive energy and perfume a true reflection of its wild and storied landscape.
