The wine shows a deep, dark red colour. Aromas of sweet black cherries and dark plums lead, followed by a subtle mix of spice. The palate brings spiced plums and red raspberries, framed by typically firm Tannat tannins. Drink now with food or cellar confidently for 5–8 years.
This case includes six bottles of Fairview Tannat 2024, sourced from a trellised vineyard planted in 2004 on Koffieklip soils. The block sits on the lower slopes of the Fairview farm, where warm days and careful canopy management help maintain vine balance and fruit concentration.
The team harvested the grapes on 6 March. They destemmed and crushed the fruit before fermenting it in stainless-steel tanks. Regular pump-overs, three times daily, built colour and tannin. After fermentation, the wine remained on the skins to deepen structure and complexity. It then moved to French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation took place, followed by 16 months of ageing. The result is a powerful, expressive Tannat with depth, structure, and strong ageing potential.
