Goat-Roti 2022 is a bold, spicy Shiraz–Viognier blend with dark red fruit, violets, black pepper and juicy, layered tannins.
Great with grilled meats, stews, lamb dishes, Mediterranean flavours, or Fairview’s boldest cheeses.
Intense, dark ruby colour. Notes of dark red fruit, broody spice and violets with a crack of black pepper. The palate is complex and layered with hints of sweet dark fruit and cinnamon, finishing with juicy tannins.
The Goat-Roti 2022 blends Shiraz and a touch of Viognier from Swartland, Darling and Paarl vineyards. Dryland Swartland fruit brings depth, the cooler Darling site adds freshness, and Paarl provides ripeness and perfume a mix that suits the Rhône-inspired style perfectly.
The team picked all vineyards in late February 2022. The Paarl Shiraz was co-fermented with Viognier, while the Darling and Swartland components fermented separately. Fermentation took place in French oak foudres and stainless-steel tanks, with pump-overs up to three times a day to extract strong colour and flavour. After pressing, the wine matured for 18 months in French and American oak, including 20% new barrels.
Goat-Roti 2022 is rich, dark and expressive. Red fruit, violets, black pepper and cinnamon shape the wine’s layered character. Juicy tannins create a long, satisfying finish. It stands proudly within the playful Goats do roam family and remains a bold, flavour-packed choice from one of the most dynamic wine farms South Africa. Enjoy it during relaxed wine tasting Paarl moments or pair it with your favourite hearty dishes at home. A fun yet serious Rhône-style blend that fits beautifully within the fairview wines philosophy.
