Goats Do Roam Red Blend 2023 is a lively, fruit-forward red crafted by the team at Fairview wine farm. Inspired by the wines of the Rhône Valley, this blend of Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Cinsault shows how South African vineyards bring their own flair to a classic style. Each variety adds something unique, creating a wine that’s bright, balanced, and full of flavour.
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Paarl, Swartland, Darling, and Stellenbosch. These sites, with their decomposed granite soils, give natural depth and freshness to the fruit. Harvesting took place from mid-February to late March 2023. The grapes were destemmed, lightly crushed, and fermented in separate batches. During fermentation, regular pump-overs encouraged colour and structure. Once complete, the wines went through malolactic fermentation before blending and maturation.
