The wine pours a dark ruby red. Aromas of juicy red berries and ripe plums rise from the glass, supported by warm oak spice. The palate feels smooth and velvety, showing luscious red fruit and noticeable sweetness. Firm tannins add balance and structure, keeping the finish soft yet satisfying.
This case includes six bottles of Goats Do Roam Sweet Red 2023, a distinctive blend crafted entirely from Fairview’s own vineyards in Paarl. Malbec, Pinotage, Petite Sirah, and Tempranillo grow on irrigated, trellised vineyards rooted in decomposed granite soils. All grapes are 100% Fairtrade certified.
The team de-stalked and lightly crushed each parcel before fermenting the varieties separately in stainless-steel tanks. Regular pump-overs, up to four times daily, ensured good fruit and tannin extraction. After alcoholic fermentation, the wines moved to tanks and barrels for malolactic fermentation. The naturally sweet wine then matured in a combination of tanks and barrels before blending, stabilisation, and bottling. The result is a rich, fruit-forward sweet red with balance, depth, and broad appeal.
