The Fairview Homtini 2023 celebrates heritage and innovation at Fairview Estate, a leading name in the Cape Winelands. Its story honours the Rabbolini family, Italian ancestors who settled near Knysna and brought their love for winemaking to South Africa.
This blend combines Sangiovese (33%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), Merlot (17%), Petit Verdot (17%), and Shiraz (8%). The grapes come mainly from Darling vineyards, rooted in decomposed Glenrosa granitic soils, with a touch of Petit Verdot from Stellenbosch. These soils add depth and structure, while the region’s warm days and cool nights preserve freshness.
Each grape variety underwent fermentation in stainless steel to retain its natural character. The wine then matured for 19 months in French and American oak, with 25% new barrels adding gentle spice and texture. The result is a red blend with elegance, layered fruit, and fine structure.
