Obscura Red 2024 is a qvevri-fermented blend of 62% Grenache Noir and 38% Shiraz. Both varieties ferment naturally. The team destems the Grenache, while the Shiraz goes in as whole bunches. Fermentation starts on its own after seven to eight days. They punch down the cap four times a day with a traditional wooden tool to build structure.
After 14 days on the skins, the team drains the wine without pressing. Each component settles naturally before blending. They bottle the wine unfined and unfiltered. No additives or adjustments go into the wine, and its grape tannins hold the structure and stability. Some natural sediment may appear.
