Tasting Notes

Homtini 2024

Bright ruby in colour with inviting aromas of plum, blackberries and cranberries. Subtle hints of spearmint, forest floor and violets add complexity. The palate offers juicy red fruit and dried French herbs, supported by firm, powdery tannins and a long, savoury finish.

Fairview Caldera 2023

An opaque, bright red wine with aromas of wild berries, herbal fynbos, pepper and savoury notes. The light to medium-bodied palate brings fresh red cherry flavours, spice and gentle oak. A long, dry finish adds to its appeal.

Extrano 2022

Deep burgundy in colour with rich aromas of dark berries, plums, clove and cinnamon. The full-bodied palate delivers concentrated dark fruit, sweet oak spice and firm Tempranillo tannins. A savoury, dry finish completes this bold red blend.

More details

Explore three distinctive expressions of Fairview's winemaking heritage with the Regional Revival Mixed Case. This six-bottle selection celebrates Mediterranean grape varieties and the different stories behind Fairview's Regional Revival Range.

Homtini 2024 honours the pioneering spirit of Charles Back's Italian ancestors. Named after the historic Homtini Pass near Knysna, this blend combines Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Petit Verdot. Its 19 months of oak maturation contribute to a layered wine with excellent ageing potential.

Inspired by the Rhône Valley, Caldera 2023 brings together Shiraz, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre from selected Cape vineyards. Each variety was fermented separately in French oak foudres before nine months of maturation, creating an elegant blend with freshness and spice.

Meanwhile, Extrano 2022 takes inspiration from Spain, combining Tempranillo and Grenache Noir. The wine spent 23 months in French and American oak, developing its distinctive structure and character.

Together, these wines offer an interesting way to discover three different red blend styles. With two bottles of each, the case is ideal for hosting a tasting evening, sharing over dinner or adding variety to your wine collection.
