Tarentaal Kwaal Organic Bush Vine Mourvèdre 2023 Case of 6 captures the rugged charm of the Swartland. Named after the guinea fowl that roam the vineyards, this wine brings both personality and place into every bottle.
The fruit comes from dryland bush vines planted in 2001 on koffieklip and Oakleaf soils. These tough conditions produce low yields and concentrated flavour. The cellar team ferments the grapes naturally in open-top concrete tanks and punches down the caps twice daily. A portion of whole bunch adds freshness and lift.
After fermentation, the wine matures in seasoned French oak barrels for about a year. This builds texture and depth while keeping the fruit expressive. The result is a Mourvèdre that feels grounded yet refined, with a balance of fruit, spice, and structure.
Perfect for slow-cooked dishes, grilled meats, or sharing something different with friends, this case offers a wine that is both distinctive and rewarding.
