The Goatfather 2022

The Goatfather 2022 comes from Don Goatti’s selection of cool mountain vineyards in Stellenbosch, Paarl and Darling. These sites offer freshness, ripe fruit and natural balance ideal for Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The grapes were harvested between late February and March 2022. The cellar team destemmed and lightly crushed the fruit before fermenting it in stainless steel. After malolactic fermentation, each component matured for 15 months in French and American oak barrels, mostly 2nd to 4th fill. Once the wines developed their character, the team blended them to match Don Goatti’s intended style.

Goatfather 2022 is smooth, expressive and deeply satisfying. Red cherry, tea leaf, spice, vanilla and red-and-black berry flavours fill the glass. Firm tannins and bright acidity give the wine structure without heaviness.
